Chronic Pain in Interdisciplinary Discourse

The HEAD-Genuit-Stiftung looks forward with great anticipation to the scientific conference “Chronic Pain in Interdisciplinary Discourse”, initiated by the Foundation and taking place in Cologne this May.

Chronic pain is one of the most significant medical, psychological, and societal challenges of our time. Despite considerable advances in diagnostics and therapy, key mechanisms underlying the development and processing of pain, as well as questions regarding appropriate care and ethical evaluation, remain the subject of ongoing research.

The conference will present nine current research projects from various disciplines—from basic research and clinical applications to perspectives in the social sciences and humanities. Experts from medicine, physics, osteopathy, psychology, medical ethics, and philosophy will come together to share their work and develop new ideas collaboratively.

The aim of the conference is to deepen interdisciplinary exchange and to open up perspectives for future collaboration.

We are very much looking forward to the diverse contributions and the opportunity for personal interaction with the participating researchers.
